Mindful Discoveries
Hello World!
Updated: Feb 6, 2021
So this is my first ever blog post, I have never done anything like this before and I’m super excited and nervous to start putting more of my writing, my thoughts and feelings somewhere. I have loved posting on Instagram and my Facebook page and am so happy with all the support I have received so far and I’m so happy to have released this website!
I thought it would be best to start with some more information about me and why I have set up this website. I know I have mentioned these things about me before but never in a great amount of detail.
Like I said in the about section, I finished a BA honours degree in education with special needs & disability (SEND) in May 2020. This involved studying a range of things such as models of disability (including mental illness), attitudes and perspectives, whilst also looking at how best to support people with disabilities, regardless if they are physical or mental. I have been on many placements in schools and other institutions where I have learnt a lot. However, I am not yet a mental health professional! I work for an amazing company where we provide outreach educational and emotional support for students with SEND and or mental health issues. I would love to progress in my career further and am looking at training to become an education mental health practitioner and will possibly look at training to become a counsellor in the future. However for now, I am just planning on going with the flow and seeing where life takes me!
This blog and the artwork that I do is just as much there to be a safe space that is useful and therapeutic for me, as hopefully it could be for others. If Mindful Discoveries reaches just one person and helps them in any way, then I am happy.
I am intending to write about a range of subjects surrounding mental health and mental well-being; as this really is a passion of mine. I also want to write about disability, body image and body confidence, emotional intelligence and lots of other things that mental health can be correlated with. I want to write about mindfulness techniques that work for me and may work for others and my thoughts and feelings about mental health. I really want to try and normalise certain feelings and show people that it is okay to not be okay. I also really want to raise awareness that emotional health should be something that we all talk about and teach our children about!
So thats everything for today, thanks for reading this far.
Look out for my next blog post and check out my Instagram and Facebook page.

I haven’t written any blog posts in so long and I think it’s because I’ve just been taking it all in… starting a small business (or trying to) is fun, but it’s also difficult, but still rewarding and
