About The Creator:

Hello, my name is Megan and I am the founder and creator of Mindful Discoveries. I am 24 years old and live in Essex, England. I studied a BA Honours degree in Education with Special Needs and Disability (SEND) and graduated in May 2020. University is where I really developed my passion for mental wellness and emotional intelligence. Mindful Discoveries is a place for me to explore this and share my knowledge, thoughts and opinions.

I currently work as a teacher in a specialist outreach college, teaching students with special needs/disabilities and or mental health difficulties. I am also the designated mental health lead for the college! I am not a qualified counsellor or therapist, but this is something I may consider doing in the future. I am also a 'SHOUT' volunteer and support people in a mental health crisis via text.

About Mindful Discoveries:

Mindful Discoveries started as an Instagram account designed to keep me busy, be a place to share my artwork and help me to feel more positive myself. However, it quickly turned into a place to inspire and help others learn more about mental wellness. It has also allowed me to create a platform in which I can develop products which may help others. I hope that Mindful Discoveries is a place you can go to feel positive and to help and guidance if you need it.

About The Products:

I have created a range of products to help others discover mindfulness and promote positive thinking, from workbooks to affirmation cards, there is something for everyone - adults and children alike. Artwork is also available to buy, at this is what helps me to be kind to my mind!

I am currently developing my first book series entitled ‘Whylee’s Tales Of Wonder’ a series of innovative children’s books designed to answer questions and enlighten children about global issues and potential taboo subjects such as mental health. The main character of the book series is Whylee, who is the most curious creature in the whole wide world! His favourite thing to do is simply ask why and he is always wondering why certain things and people are the way they are. You can join this wondrous creature through a range of different stories and become enlightened and educated by reading the questions he asks.
